7 Negative Effects of Coffee

Coffee is America's favorite drug with around 180 million of us starting most days with a caffeine jolt to get going. Some people enjoy their coffee and apparently have no health issues with drinking it. There are however some potential negative effects of coffee, particularly at certain times and when it becomes so addictive that you find it difficult to go a day without it.
If you are really concerned about these negative effects, be sure to check out these 3 tips to make coffee super healthy.
In small, occasional cups there is possibly a case to be made for some benefits to coffee. If it’s fresh, high-quality and ideally organic (regular coffee is one of the most pesticide-intensive crops in the world) then a raft of studies have shown that it can improve alertness and long term it may reduce the risk of developing Parkinson’s disease, gallstones, kidney stones and liver cirrhosis for heavy drinkers.
Conversely, in the longer term it has been associated with an increased risk of high cholesterol, heart disease, and osteoporosis.
Good-quality ground coffee is a source of antioxidants like chlorogenic acid that may help with weight loss and Green Coffee Bean Extract, particularly high in this antioxidant, are the latest popular supplement for body fat reduction.
Many of us though are having far beyond small or occasional cups, and instant coffee, or even worse, that murky stuff that comes out of the office coffee machine, is far from good-quality.
In fact, despite some potential longer term benefits, for many of us excessive coffee consumption may be having some very negative effects on our health in the here and now, particularly on our digestive system and stress levels.

Remedies For Stretch Marks

What are Stretch Marks?
Stretch marks are the off-coloured stripes or streaks formed on the skin as a result of swift stretching of skin or weight changes. They mainly appear on abdomen due to pregnancy or obesity. In dermatology, they are termed as Striae. They are formed due to hormonal changes related to pregnancy, puberty, hormone replacement therapy, etc. Stretch marks can be commonly seen on waist, thighs, lower backs, hips, breasts, arms, and buttocks. How are these stretch marks formed? The skin of the human body consists of three main layers:
  • Epidermis (the outer layer)
  • Dermis (the middle layer)
  • Hypodermic (the deepest and third layer)
When the connective tissue is stretched due to the expansion and contraction of skin, the stretch marks starts developing on the dermis or the middle layer of the skin. With the stretch in skin, the collagen gets weak, and the elastin fibres start tearing. Due to this, its normal production cycle gets damaged or interrupted. This results in the formation of fine scars under the epidermis or the top layer of the skin. Initially, they appear red or pink, but gradually, they turned into thin silvery line.
Causes
Stretch marks are not a disease, which infects the human body, but are the scars formed due to contraction and expansion of skin. They are basically caused by stretching of the skin. Their appearance depends on the type of skin. These ugly stretch marks are caused due to:
  • The physical stretching of the skin at the end of pregnancy.
  • Extraordinary weight gain, specially on arms, thighs, etc.
  • Use of certain medications, including lotions, pills, Corticosteroid creams, and steroids.
  • Adrenal gland diseases, Cushing’s syndrome, and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome
  • Genetic disorders
  • Muscle building
  • Hormonal changes during puberty
  • Heredity
Symptoms
What are the signs of stretch marks? No one would ever like to have stretch marks on their skin. They commonly appear on the places where a large amount of fats is deposited. Some of the symptoms which help to recognize the development of stretch marks are as follows:
  • The skin becomes pink, flattened and thin before the development of stretch marks.
  • Development of red, pink, or purple lines on the skin.
  • Affected area becomes soft in touch.
  • At the initial phase, these lines appear wrinkly and somewhat raised.
  • With the passage of time, these lines convert into silver or white in colour.
  • They may also appear in patches of parallel lines.
  • They appear as scar.

If you are fed up with all the stretch removal creams available in the market, make your own at home. The natural antioxidants and emollient properties of cocoa butter lends it excellent moisturizing ability which penetrates deep and fast into the skin repairing it and removing stretch marks. The fatty acids of Shea butter, which has been used by Africans since ages, aids cocoa butter in repairing the skin further. 10. Eat Well to Remove Stretch Marks
Apart from keeping your skin well hydrated, you also need to keep it well nourished. Lack of nutrients inside your body can never give you full benefits of creams, lotions, oils, masks or any other thing that you apply externally on your skin.
  • Have a good amount of proteins daily. Beans, fish, egg whites, yogurt, nuts and seeds like those of pumpkin, squash, and watermelon seeds, peanuts, almonds etc.

Why Is Mineral Oil Bad for Your Skin?

All oil is not created equal.
Mineral oil is an extremely common ingredient in personal care products from moisturizers to foundation to lip balm, and it is also an ingredient in a myriad of hair products. Baby oil, for example, is made entirely of mineral oil. Unfortunately, the use of mineral oil in so many products has more to do with its cost than it's helpfulness in helping you maintain clear, healthy skin.

How to Lose Belly Fat for Women

Learn the best ways about how to get rid of belly fat for women, not only to look beautiful but also as the belly fat leads to many life style diseases like Diabetes, Hypertension, etc.
Act fast now to get rid of belly fat, as the older you get, the stubborn your belly fat will become.

Location of Fat: Your body store fat in two locations:

(I) Just under the skin: In abdomen, buttocks, hips and thighs. This fat you can notice and is called “subcutaneous” fat.

(ii) Deeper inside: Around your vital organs, namely, heart, lungs, digestive tract, liver, etc. This fat you cannot notice and is called “visceral” fat.

Everyone is generally worried about the fat which one can see. But in fact, the hidden fat, that is the visceral fat, is a bigger problem.
A little fat is needed like any other organ: Actually your body needs some fat. Only the excess fat is cause of worry.

(i) We all have visceral fat. It is required to provide necessary cushioning around your organs.

(ii) It becomes a problem when you have too much of it, as then you are more likely to develop high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, heart problem, etc.

(iii) Belly Fat is risk for even bone loss, as visceral fat adds to bone marrow and decreases bone density.

Causes for Belly Fat in women

(i) Hormones: Menopause causes drop in estrogen production. This makes women more prone to gain visceral belly fat.

(ii) During per menopause and menopause, the decrease in leptin levels causes sleep disturbances, which can again cause belly fat.

(iii) Hormonal imbalances during menopause also make you to feel hungry, even after eating. So you tend to eat more.

(iv) Another cause is stress which can lead to an increase in cortisol level, a “stress hormone”, which makes your body to store more belly fat.

(v) Women also tend to gain more weight during pregnancy.

How to get rid of belly fat fast for women:
Follow these four ways to get rid of belly fat, namely, Exercise, Diet, Sleep and Stress Management.

1. Exercise Tips –  For getting rid of belly fat for women:

(i) Crunches and sit-up are often ineffective to get rid of belly fat.

(ii) Consider yoga-inspired exercise, the Cat pose. Get on your all fours. Arch your back like a cat. Work on your abdominal muscles by inhaling and pulling the stomach back towards spine. Inhale and exhale for four seconds each. Repeat it for few minutes.

(iii) If you have not been active lately, better check with your doctor before taking up any vigorous exercises program.

(iv) Vigorous exercises help in getting rid of belly fat, including visceral fat. Half an hour of vigorous aerobic exercise four times a week can do the trick. Alternatively, you can go for jogging or walking briskly.

(v) If you are not fit for vigorous exercise, go for any other moderate activity (that raises your heart rate) for thirty minutes at least three times a week.

(vi) Do your exercise in small bursts. Interval training or alternate short bursts of exercise with brief resting periods are more effective to lose belly fat.

(vii) You can also set your treadmill, stationary bike or elliptical for interval training, so that difficulty level is increased for short intermittent periods. Most of the modern exercise equipment has this facility.

(viii) One way to lose belly fat is to run fast for 20 seconds, then slow down to a walk, until you catch your breath. Repeat it for ten minutes.

(ix) Go for a brisk walk for five minutes, whenever you get time during your day work by getting up from your desk.

(x) Consider walking up and down a flight of stairs instead of using lift.

(xi) Walk instead of driving. Stand up and walk for thirty steps every thirty minutes.

(xii) Do squatting. Stand with your feet 8-9 inches apart, extend your arms in front, and squat hips backwards. Do three to four sets of 15 to 20 squats.
